When an immersion element fails two things happen. Firstly the hot water doesn’t heat. Secondly the fuse blows for the circuit. This cannot be repaired. Replace it when it becomes faulty. To confirm it is faulty, we recommend two tests. The first being a continuity test on the element. The second being a insulation resistance test. If both pass then something else is at fault.

The mixing valve is more of a safety device. This does not control the temperature. It really hot water coming through that could burn you. When this component fails it will only let out cold water.
